Dinner by Starlight

Eli Brooks

--

Your lips were loose but hardly let a word escape and your eyes evaded mine like the skittish footsteps of rabbit's feet.

The rounded blush of your cheeks betrayed your confidence but endeared you to me.

Some men might have thought you too beautiful, too perfectly sculpted to cradle the depth of so much substance.

But I knew better, for I saw the bottomless well of your soul, and even now, I can hear the wishes I tossed in crash against your walls.
